Specializing in Sourdough
Schedule and News
Thank you to everyone for making 2025 such an amazing year. We were part of so many great events and were proud to show up with fresh products every single time. The travel—especially getting back and forth to Saskatoon—can be a challenge with the weather, but we made it to every market, and that’s something we’re really proud of. This spring and summer are shaping up to be no different. We’ve signed up for all of our regular farmers' markets, both indoor and outdoor, along with a growing list of specialty and boutique markets that we’ve come to love. Here’s what we currently have on the roster:
Kith & Kin
(Saskatoon)
April 25 & 26
Ladybug Trade Show
(Swift Current)
May 2
Cathedral Village
Arts Festival (Regina)
May 23
MRKT (Regina)
May 30 & 31
Bazaart (Regina)
June 20
All throughout July and August, you can find us at the Regina Farmers Market every Wednesday and Saturday.
We also have some exciting news! We’ve made a few adjustments with Local and Fresh here in Regina. Starting April 1, 2026, we’ll have our own stand in the store that we plan to keep stocked for up to two days after each bake. During the summer months, when we’re baking for the Wednesday and Saturday farmers markets, we’ll be doing our best to stock Local and Fresh with our full lineup of products.
Beginning May 2, this means we’re aiming to have sourdough available at Local and Fresh every Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday (They are closed Sunday). We’re hoping this makes it a bit easier for those who can’t always make it out to the farmers markets on weekends.
As we get started, there may be a bit of a learning curve as we figure out demand—so while we’ll do our best to keep things stocked, everything will still be first come, first served. We’ll be keeping a close eye on things and adjusting as we go.
Enjoy the warmer weather ahead—we’re looking forward to seeing you soon!
The Art of Sourdough

Our Starter
Meet Agnus, our starter since 2020! Named after Rebecca's great grandma, who immigrated to Canada from Scotland, this starter carries her fiery spirit and strength in every rise and bubble!
Hand-Scoring Mastery
Each loaf is a unique canvas which requires scoring to release tension as the bread rises. Without scoring, that energy would have nowhere to go besides bursting outwards at the seams. It won't rise properly if this step is missed.
The Perfect Bake
Achieving the ideal crust and crumb is our constant pursuit. Every loaf we make is hand-stretched and shaped, cold fermented in the fridge and baked with steam to achieve our signature style.
Sourdough Bread
White $9.50
Made with just water, flour & salt. This loaf is a classic.

Whole Wheat $9.50
A 50/50 blend of whole wheat/white flour.

Cinnamon Raisin $10.00
Cinnamon & raisins are a perfect combination. The cinnamon brings the warm, cozy vibes. The raisins add a nice sweetness.

Dark Rye $10.50
A blend of dark rye and white flour, molasses and finely ground caraway seeds gives this unsuspecting loaf a punch of flavor.

Seeded $10.50
A 50/50 blend of whole wheat/white flour with sunflower & flax seeds. The seeds make for a wonderful texture!

Jalapeno Cheddar $11.00
Don’t be afraid, this bread isn’t spicy! Deseeded jalapeno pepper gives this bread flavor, without the heat.

Cheesy Garlic $12.00
Cheddar cheese & garlic are swirled throughout this loaf, topped with Italian herbs before being baked. It is definitely the most popular for a reason!

Jalapeno Cheddar Sourdough Bagel $15.25
Bits of jalapeno & golden cheddar cheese make this bagel irresistible.

Cinnamon Buns $16.00 (4-Pack)
Made with our brioche dough, these cinnamon buns are light & fluffy, topped with a buttery caramel sauce for that ooey gooey experience people love.

About
Founded in 2020 by Quinn and Rebecca, Ambitious Baker is a heartfelt journey that began when Rebecca decided to close her home daycare and pursue her passion for baking sourdough full-time. What started as a small weekend venture selling at Rowan's Ravine quickly blossomed into a beloved local bakery, now a staple at the Regina Farmers Market (RFM). As demand for our artisanal goods grew, we realized we needed more space to keep up. This spring, we took a leap of faith, purchasing and renovating a house to accommodate our expanding business. In June, Quinn joined Rebecca full-time, leaving his office job to help fuel the growth of Ambitious Baker. Specializing exclusively in sourdough, Ambitious Baker offers a variety of mouthwatering products, from buns and bread to cinnamon buns and bagels, all crafted with the same love and attention to detail. Our most popular creation, the Cheesy Garlic sourdough loaf, has become a fan favorite. Every loaf, bun, and bagel we make is a testament to our commitment to quality, community, and the art of sourdough baking!
